Usdaw members employed by household goods giant Unilever in Leeds have voted to accept changes to the company’s pension scheme. The decision brings to an end a long running dispute that led to the first ever national strikes taking place at Unilever. The dispute was sparked by the firm's

decision to replace its final salary pension scheme with a Career Average Revalued Earnings scheme, which substantially reduces the income workers will receive in retirement .Following talks held in February, Unilever agreed to make a number of significant improvements to the CARE scheme rules
