Man remanded over boy attack

A 51 year old man has appeared in court charged with the attempted murder of a four year old boy who was found in the street with stab wounds.

Steve Frogg, of Frederick Street, Mansfield, Nottinghamshire, was remanded in custody following a brief hearing at the town's magistrates' court.

His alleged victim, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was found seriously injured in Mansfield on Monday afternoon.

He is conscious and in a stable condition at Nottingham's Queen's Medical Centre.

Frogg will next appear at Nottingham Crown Court on April 25.

Breaking: 51-year-old man charged with attempted murder

A 51-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder after an attack on a four-year-old boy. Steve Frogg, of Frederick Street, Mansfield, will appear at Mansfield Magistrates Court today.

The boy was found with serious injuries, believed to be stab wounds, in Frederick Street, Mansfield just before 1.30pm on Monday. He remains in a conscious and stable condition at Nottingham’s Queen’s Medical Centre.

Police believe the attack was an isolated incident.
