Protestors camping at the stalled Westfield shopping development in Bradford have vowed to stay there for another week. It comes after the firm responsible for the shopping centre made a plea to protestors to move out.

The group Occupy Westfield say they want to force the council to get on with building work there.

The firm responsible for the Westfield shopping development in Bradford have made a plea to protesters to vacate the site.

"Occupy Westfield" set up camp in the area known as the "Bradford hole" last weekend because they say they want to force the council to get on with building work. The area was cleared in 2006 to make way for a shopping centre, but has remained undeveloped since.

Westfield Shopping Towns have written to the campaigners to say their actions are counter productive and could put off retailers.

A group of protestors in Bradford have begun a what they say will be a week long occupation of a development site in the city.

The site of the proposed Westfield development was cleared in 2006, but since then has remained undeveloped. There is currently planning permission in place for a shopping centre containing 77 stores.

Members of the campaign group "Occupy Westfield" say they want their protest to force the council to enter positive discussions over the future of the site
