Ripon Cathedral party

Ripon in North Yorkshire celebrated its royal connections in a unique way today. Clergy at the Cathedral have staged a street party not outside, but inside the historic walls.

Special guests were invited - all with their own personal memories of royal visits to North Yorkshire, including one man who's made it his life's work to record royal visitors down the decades. Chris Kiddey reports.

Performing for the Queen

The star studded line up of the Jubilee concert included Elton John, Kylie Minogue and our very own Military Wives choir. The husband of one of the lead vocalists David Eglantine, who is based at Catterick, told us that his wife was very excited about performing for the Queen.

Nick Clegg parties with members of his constituency

The MP for Sheffield Hallam Nick Clegg has joined dozens of people for a Jubilee street party in his home constituency.

Residents from Totley Hall Drive and Totley Hall Mead in Totley organised the event. It is one of dozens of street parties in Sheffield taking place across the Jubilee weekend.

"It is fantastic that right across Sheffield and the rest of the country people are coming together to celebrate this historic occasion."

– Nick Clegg

The party is in full swing at Catterick Garrison
