Campaigners from our region who are fighting for government funding for brain tumour research have been lobbying Parliament today. They say it shouldn't just be left to charities to raise awareness of a condition that affects thousands of people every year. Chris Kiddey reports
Campaigners from our region who are fighting for funding into brain tumour research are in London this lunchtime to lobby MPs. Michael Billington went to meet one of them, who is from Rotherham and living with the disease.
Rotherham GP Dr Vetrivel Velamail was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumour after becoming concerned about his eyesight. He is concerned funding for research into this type of cancer is not in line with other forms and more about the number of people with it should be made aware to GPs.
