A prison nurse who had an affair with a dangerous rapist serving life was jailed for three years today.
A judge told Karen Cosford she'd fallen under the spell of an evil man. Cosford sent Brian McBride intimate text messages on a smuggled mobile phone - and a love letter hidden in a bag of sugar.
Three other prison workers were also jailed for their parts in concealing the affair.
Wakefield Prison nurse officer Karen Cosford, who was accused of having a sexual relationship with a convicted rapist , has been found guilty of three charges of misconduct in a public office.
Two female colleagues, who it is claimed covered up for Cosford, have also been found guilty of misconduct in a public office. A male colleague who faced the same charge has been cleared. The three women have been released on bail and will be sentenced at Leeds Crown Court on Monday, October 8.
