Scarred model changes attitudes towards beauty
A model from Harrogate hopes to change attitudes towards beauty as she shows off her scars to the camera.
Model hopes to confront prejudice
When she suffered horrific burns to her face and her body in an accident at just eight years old, doctors in Labonya Siddiqui's native Bangladesh gave her little chance of survival. But they reckoned without Labonya's determination and strength.
Not only did she beat the odds then - but now, as a 21 year old student at Bradford University, Labonya has embarked on a modelling career she hopes will confront prejudice and inspire others. Lisa Adlam's been to meet her.
Model inspires burns survivors
21-year-old Labonya Siddiqui suffered 40% burns when she was a child. She is now working as a model and hopes to inspire other burns survivors.
