Floodwaters recede in Burton Fleming

The floodwaters are finally going down in the East Yorkshire village of Burton Fleming which has been submerged for ten days.

But now residents' hopes that they might finally be able to start the clean up are being dampened by the prospect of yet more bad weather on the way.

Farmers count cost of wet weather

Farmers are counting the cost of one of the wettest years we've ever had. Thousand of acres have been left underwater as rivers burst their banks. It's raised fears that some food prices may have to rise. Chris Kiddey reports from Kelfield in North Yorkshire

Flooding: Alerts in your area

There are 14 flood alerts in North Yorkshire alone today, with the River Ouse particularly badly affected. Meanwhile, in the village of Burton Fleming near Bridlington in East Yorkshire, villagers are preparing for more floods as river levels are expected to peak later.
