North Yorkshire Police have confirmed that a man’s body, discovered yesterday in the River Ouse, is missing Christopher Baker.

Christopher Baker death: no suspicious circumstances

Police do not believe there are any suspicious circumstances surrounding Christopher Baker's death.

Police in York were called to the River Ouse near Millennium Bridge at 3.15pm on Saturday after a member of the public reported seeing a body in the river.

North Yorkshire Police have thanked members of the public and the media for their support with the appeals to help locate Christopher.

Christopher Baker's family ask for privacy

The family of missing Christopher Baker have asked for privacy.

Sadly the search for Chris has ended with very distressing news for his loved ones. Our thoughts are very much with his family, friends and colleagues as they try to come to terms with his death at this very sad and traumatic time.

We now ask that his family’s privacy is respected and they are allowed to grieve in peace.

Body is York man Christopher Baker

North Yorkshire Police have confirmed that a man’s body recovered from the River Ouse in York yesterday has been identified as Christopher Baker. The 29-year-old York man went missing in December and was last seen climbing over Skelderate Bridge in York on 20 December 2012.
