It's been 20 years since the killing of teenager Stephen Lawrence following a racist attack. Since then his mother, Doreen Lawrence has campaigned for justice and set up a charitable trust in his memory.
Today she was in York to receive an honorary doctorate from the University in recognition of her work. Sarah Clark reports.
On the 20th anniversary of murder teenager Stephen Lawrence, his mother, Doreen Lawrence, has been awarded an honorary doctorate by the University of York.
In 1993, her 18-year-old son was killed by white youths in a racist attack in Eltham, south-east London.
Since then Doreen has continued to campaign for justice and set up a charitable trust in his memory.
