Part of our region's seaside history will go under the hammer tonight. Built in 1873 Cleethorpes Pier has stood the test of time but in that time it has had a chequered history. A hundred yards long, the Pier boasts a six hundred seat theatre, cafe and bar.

In recent months it has been a nightclub. It is believe the current owner had decided to sell it in order to invest in other businesses. The Pier is now up for sale with a guide price of four hundred thousand pounds. It will be auctioned off tonight.
