A spokesperson for Yorkshire Ambulance Service NHS Trust said: “We received an emergency call at 11.54 today to reports of a ‘balconycollapse’ at Casa Restaurant on Elland Road in Brighouse.
“We dispatched a number of resources to the scene including five ambulances, our Hazardous Area Response Team who are specially trained and equipped to respond to this type of incident, as well as the Yorkshire Air Ambulance and a doctor.
" One male patient has been airlifted to Leeds General Infirmary and four female patients have been transported by land ambulance to Huddersfield Royal Infirmary. All sustained serious injuries but none are believed to be life-threatening at this time.”
Itt is understood that four women and a man were injured in the balcony collapse at the Casa Del Largo. All have serious but not life threatening injuries.The man was airlifted to Leeds General Infirmary and women taken to Huddersfield Royal Infirmary.
It's understood that the balcony was attached to the bridal suite on the first floor of the Casa del Largo restaurant in Brighouse.Several ambulances, police, and fire emergency vehicles are on the scene.At least one person has been taken to hospital by ambulance.
Police, firefighters and paramedics have been called to the Casa Del Lago restaurant in Brighouse . A balcony is understood to have collapsed at the restuarant on Elland Road, leaving at least five people injured.
