City of Culture title could bring regeneration to Hull
The people behind Hull's bid to become the UK's City of Culture for 2017 believe the title could provide a catalyst for change. The city is up against places such as Leicester, Aberdeen and Hastings but Councillor Stephen Bayes says the thriving arts scene is more than a match for others.
Whilst Hull has undeniable social and economic problems, those who live there have been telling Calendar that being crowned City of Culture could lead the way to much needed regeneration.
