Yorkshire hosts half marathons

Both the Leeds and Sheffield half marathons are taking place. Thousands of runners from across the region have pulled on their trainers to compete.

Six thousand runners hit the streets of Leeds of today for the annual Half Marathon. Organisers are hoping to beat the one hundred and fifty thousand pounds they raised for various charities last year.

It's the second time the event has been overseen by Run For All - the organisation responsible for similar events across the Calendar region and which aims to continue the charity work of Jane Tomlinson wo raised nearly two million pounds for charity before she died.
