Yorkshire soldier remembered

Yorkshire soldier, Sergeant Gareth Thursby, who was shot dead in Afghanistan, is being remembered in his home town of Skipton, as his name is added to the war memorial there.

A market town is today paying tribute to a Yorkshire soldier shot dead with a colleague by a rogue Afghan policeman. Sergeant Gareth Thursby, described as inspirational by senior officers, was killed last year in a so-called green on blue attack.

This afternoon his name is being added to the war memorial in Skipton where he was brought up.
