Police are stepping up patrols in the Holmewood area of Bradford this evening, after a man was shot in the face. It happened outside the Holmewood Social Club on Broadstone Way at around 5.45pm.
Emergency crews were called to the scene by a member of the public who reported hearing a gunshot and found a 28-year-old man with facial injuries. He was taken to hospital where he is being treated for his injuries, which are non life threatening.
Police are appealing for anyone who has information to come forward. Active enquiries are ongoing in the area, with extra police patrols to re-assure the public and specialist officers are on scene.
