Police have reassured the public that there is no cause for alarm, following tonight's shooting in Bradford.
We are in the early stages of investigating this incident and would like to speak to anyone who witnessed or has information about what happened. Fortunately the victim received injuries which are not life threatening but it is important we catch those responsible as quickly as possible and are looking for witnesses to help us build a picture of what has occurred. Such violence is totally unacceptable and will not be tolerated by the public or the Police.

Reassurance patrols are ongoing tonight in Holmewood by the local neighbourhood policing team and specialist officers remain on scene. We are making inroads into tackling gun crime in Bradford through our Sabredale operations which are taking weapons, and drugs off our streets. We are working with residents and, as Sabdredale shows, are acting on intelligence from within communities, and I would appeal to anyone who has information about this offence to contact Bradford South CID on 101 or CrimeStoppers.
