South Yorkshire Police have begun a murder inquiry after a 23-year-old man was stabbed to death in Sheffield. Joe Walker, from the Intake area of the city, suffered a single stab wound in an incident early on Saturday.

Detectives are now questioning a twenty one old woman from Sheffield on suspicion of assisting an offender. A 17-year-old boy has been remanded into custody and a sixteen year old girl has been released on bail.
Officers investigating the murder of Joe Walker have today arrested a 16-year-old girl. The 16-year-old girl, from Sheffield, has been detained on suspicion of murder and assisting an offender. She is currently in custody and is due to be questioned by detectives.
A teenager has appeared before Sheffield Magistrates Court, charged with the murder of Joe Walker in the city. The 23-year-old died from a single stab wound in the Manor area on Saturday. The 17-year-old who cannot be named was remanded into custody.

"As Joe's parents and family we cannot believe the pain and heartache that evil has brought to our family. Those who knew and loved Joe would say that he was a cheerful lad who put a smile on anyone's face who met him.
"Can we ask that if there is anyone who witnessed what happened to Joe, that you show him respect by giving any information at all to South Yorkshire Police.
"Please if you know anything that would assist the police get in touch with them, as this is not the time to hold back. Our family ask that we be left to grieve and come to terms with our loss."
