Sheffield stab victim dies

A 45-year-old man who suffered stab wounds during an incident in Sheffield city centre on Friday has died in hospital. His death comes on the same day that, detectives arrested a third man in connection with the stabbing.

An 18-year-old local man arrested on suspicion of assisting offenders is currently helping police with their enquiries. A 39-year-old Sheffield man charged with grievous bodily harm and an 18-year-old Sheffield man charged with assisting offenders appeared at Sheffield Magistrates’ Court yesterday.

Two charged over Sheffield stabbing

Two men have been charged after a man was stabbed in Sheffield city centre.

A 39-year-old Sheffield man was charged with Grievous Bodily Harm and an 18-year-old Sheffield man has been charged with assisting offenders. Both men have been remanded in custody and will appear at Sheffield Magistrates Court tomorrow.

The 45-year-old man had suffered stab wounds to his upper chest and he remains in a critical condition at the Northern General Hospital.

Second men arrested after stabbing in Sheffield

Detectives investigating a stabbing in Sheffield city centre, which left a man fighting for his life in hospital, have arrested a second person.

The 18-year-old was arrested yesterday evening on suspicion of assisting offenders after a 39-year-old was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder earlier in the day.

The victim, a man aged 45, was found by a member of the public on Friday evening. He had been stabbed in the chest. He is in a critical condition in hospital and described as having "potentially life-threatening injuries".

Man arrested in connection with Sheffield stabbing

Detectives are questioning a 39-year-old man on suspicion of attempted murder after a stabbing in Sheffield city centre. A 45-year-old man was found by a member of the public near to Snig Hill Police Station, yesterday at around 4.50pm. He was taken to hospital suffering stab wounds.

Police believe the incident happened at the top of Dixon Lane where it meets Haymarket and are keen to hear from anyone who may have been in the area at the time.
