Review of football policing

West Yorkshire Police are to review their football policing following the Huddersfield Town v Hull City match in March.

Huddersfield v Hull review: MP Responds

Hull North MP Diana Johnson has responded to the report into the travel restrictions placed on Hull City fans for the match at Huddersfield on 30 March 2013.

This report by Northumbria Police into the Huddersfield vs Hull City debacle on 30 March contains a lot about various ways West Yorkshire Police can record their decisions better and improve their internal and external communications...it leaves me none the wiser as to what the evidence was upon which they based their travel restrictions on Hull City fans...All we know is that there has not been any crowd trouble at any recent matches between Hull City and Huddersfield..."

– Diana Johnson, MP for Hull North

West Yorkshire Police's Chief Constable Mark Gilmore said in a review that the force are to look at their football policing procedures after travelling fans contacted their Police and Crime Commissioner over fears the restrictions placed on them could have forced them to miss the game.
