Lincolnshire County Council has begun work to alter a number of yellow lines in the Upgate area of Louth, as they are too thick and yellow, and not in keeping with the thinner ones usually found in so called 'conservation' areas.

Lincolnshire County Council has begun work to alter a number of yellow lines in the Upgate area of Louth, as they are too thick and yellow, and not in keeping with the thinner ones usually found in so called 'conservation' areas.

A spokesperson for Lincolnshire County Council said the thinner, less yellow lines are to protect the town's "unique character", and have apologised for their error.

Council teams hope to have removed all of the wrong lines by Wednesday.
