A man who owned two banned dangerous dogs which killed his pregnant partner has escaped being sent to jail today.
Instead Lee Horner was ordered to do 280 hours of unpaid work.

A man who owned two banned dangerous dogs which killed his pregnant partner has been ordered to undertake 280 hours of unpaid work.
Lee Horner, 34, had pleaded guilty to owning the pit bull type dogs which mauled mother-of-four Emma Bennett, 27, to death. He was also banned from keeping dogs for life. The attack happened at their home in Osmondthorpe last December. The dogs were ordered to be destroyed.
A man who admitted owning dangerous dogs which killed his pregnant partner is due to be sentenced at Leeds Magistrates Court this morning.
Lee Horner owned banned pit-bull type dogs, which attacked and killed Emma Bennett in her home on Dawlish Avenue.
