Great Get Together events mark a year since death of MP Jo Cox

More than 100,000 events are expected to take place as the nation comes together to mark the first anniversary of the murder of Jo Cox.

Communities throughout her home county in particular will stage thousands of events from June 16 to 18 for The Great Get Together in honour of the mother of two.

Her family and the Jo Cox Foundation have teamed up with The Big Lunch to create the event, which will be the biggest of its kind since the Diamond Jubilee.

The former Batley and Spen MP was killed in her constituency by a right-wing extremist on June 16 last year.
