Police have released details of the three people killed and the two seriously injured in a head on collision in East Yorkshire.

Read the full storyPeople living in the sparsely populated area said the crash appears to have happened where the A614 crosses the Aire and Calder Navigation canal and Dutch River, which run parallel to each other across the flat farmland.
The double bridge is about a mile south of East Cowick on the road to Thorne. One woman said police had been keeping locals well away but she believed two cars were involved in the crash.
The Yorkshire Ambulance Service confirmed two patients had been airlifted by helicopter from the scene to Leeds General Infirmary. But a spokeswoman said she could not confirm the nature or seriousness of their injuries.
She said the service was called at 1.33pm today and responded with two air ambulances, three land ambulances and two rapid response vehicles. She said a doctor and a team leader were sent to the scene along with paramedics and a full hazardous area response team was also mobilised.
Recovery vehicles arrived at the scene shortly before 8pm. Lorries with cranes moved into position to begin lifting the wreckage of the two vehicles from the bridge.

Three people have died and two others have been seriously injured in a collision between two vehicles. Humberside Police said they were called to the A614 a tEast Cowick, near Goole, at about 1.35pm. A spokesman confirmed the accident had resulted in three deaths and two other serious injuries.
