Man critical after alleged assault in Rotherham

A man is critically ill in hospital following an alleged assault in the Kimberworth Park area of Rotherham. Emergency services were called to a property on Lapwater Walk on Sunday evening after concerns were raised for a local resident.

A 44-year-old man was found unconscious with serious head injuries. The man was taken to the Northern General Hospital in Sheffield but later transferred to the Royal Hallamshire Hospital where he remains in a critical condition.

A 46-year-old local man has been arrested in connection with the incident. He remains in custody assisting police with inquiries.

Man left with 'serious facial injuries' after attack

Police in Bradford are appealing for witnesses to an assault outside the Bridge Café on Harrogate Road in Greengates on Saturday 21st July. A 20 year old man was attacked by three men leaving him with serious facial injuries which required an operation to rebuild his eye socket.

There were a number of people in the café at the time and will have seen the offence occur. The suspects are described as white with dark hair, one of which was wearing a blue t-shirt. They made off on foot towards the toepath on the Leeds/ Liverpool canal.

Polish man fights for life after attack

Police in Hull have appealed for witnesses to come forward after an assault that has left a man with potentially life threatening injuries. A 42-year-old Polish man is currently in intensive care in Hull Royal Infirmary after sustaining serious

injuries in what is thought to have been an assault involving a bladed article. Police were called to an address in Hutt Street, Hull on Wednesday 11 July after reports of a man with stab wounds. It is currently unclear exactly when and where the assault occurred and witnesses

are needed in order that details can be established. 35-year-old woman was arrested in connection with the assault but has since been released on police bail whilst officers conduct further inquiries.

Man in coma after serious assault

Police are appealing for information after a 35-year-old man was found unconscious with serious head injuries in Clifton in the early hours of Tuesday morning. He was taken to York District Hospital where he is a coma.

It is believed that the victim may have got his injuries up to two hours before he was found. Three local men aged 19, 21 and 36 have been arrested in connection with the incident and remain in police custody for questioning.

As a result of this incident there is a man fighting for his life in hospital. We are currently working to establish the full circumstances and I would like to thank the people who have already come forward with information that has been very helpful to the investigation so far. However, I am urging anyone else who saw anything suspicious in the area of Burton Green or Kingsway North either late on Monday 28 May or in the early hours of Tuesday 29 May to contact the police or Crimestoppers as soon as possible."

Scarborough assault - witnesses sought

Scarborough police are appealing for two vital witnesses to come forward after a 12-year-old boy was assaulted.

Sometime between 4pm and 5pm on Wednesday the victim was attacked on the basketball court of Sainsbury’s play park near Wykeham Street.

He was punched in the face several times before a passer-by, a woman with a pram, intervened and stopped the assault. Officers are keen to speak to her.

A girl is thought to have filmed the incident on her mobile phone and police would like her to assist the investigation.

Fortunately, the victim was not seriously injured in this incident but it was a nasty assault and fortunately a woman stopped to help him.

“I urge her to come forward as soon as possible, as she may be able to help us to identify the offender.

“I would also urge the girl who filmed the assault on her phone to come forward as well. She may have information that is vital to our investigation.

“I also appeal to anyone else who witnessed the incident to contact the police or Crimestoppers and help us bring the offender to justice.”

Witness appeal

Police in Huddersfield are appealing for witnesses after an 18-year-old woman was assaulted on a bus. It happened aound 8pm on Saturday 5th May as the the woman was travelling on the 307 bus from Huddersfield Town centre along Cowrakes Road with a friend.

She was approached by another passenger who allegedly made threats towards her. It is alleged a fight then took place , which left the victim with bruising. A 48-year-old Huddersfield man has been arrested on suspicion of assault and has been released on police bail pending further enquiries.

Officers would like to speak to anyone who was travelling on the bus at the time or who may have been on Cowrakes Road when the assault took place. Anyone with information is asked to contact PC Michelle Dhurmea at Huddersfield Police Station on 01484 436578.

"Assault" investigation

A man is being treated in hospital for a head injury after police were called to an address near to the Irish Centre in Leeds.

Officers were called at 5:13am after concerns about the safety of a 37 year old man on Everleigh Street. He is now being treated at Leeds General Infirmary and his condition is described as "not life threatening".

A man and a woman, both in their 30s, have been arrested on suspicion of assault.

Investigations are continuing and an area on Everleigh Street, including part of the Irish Centre car park, is cordoned out while an examination is carried out.
