Joss Stone: Plot to behead me was 'creepy'

Singer Joss Stone has told ITV that a plot to kidnap and behead her was "creepy".

Kevin Liverpool and Junior Bradshaw from Huddersfield researched the star and planned to attack her, using hammers and a samurai sword.

They were jailed earlier this year after crashing their car as they made their way to her home and even having to ask directions to the address when they got to her village.

They were arrested before they even reached her front gates.

York man dies after attack

A man who was assaulted in York has died of his injuries, police have confirmed.

Keith Wright, 50, had been on life-support in Leeds General Infirmary since he was attacked at 7.40pm on January 21. He died at 9am today.

Detective Inspector Ian Dyer, said “Our thoughts are with Keith’s family who are naturally devastated by the terrible outcome at hospital. “This is an extremely tragic incident and we are doing everything we can to support them."

Liam Matthew Wyard, 19, and a 16-year-old youth who cannot be named for legal reasons, have been charged with unlawful and malicious wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

The pair are due to appear at York Crown Court in April.


Teenager attacked for her phone

Police in Worksop are looking for a young man after a teenage girl was attacked for her mobile phone.

On 17 December 2012 the 16-year-old was on the footpath outside Allens Cottages when she was shoved and punched by a man before he demanded her phone and money.

She managed to push him away and he ran off empty-handed. She was unharmed, but distressed by the attack.

The man is described as white, in his late teens, of slim build and around 5ft 9ins tall. He had short blond hair, prominent front teeth and was dressed in all black.

A similar attack happened at around 4pm on 9 December 2012 when two men threatened a woman in her 40s on a path outside Asda on Memorial Avenue in the town. The men, who were riding bicycles, pushed the woman against a wall and stole her handbag.

Gang attack in Doncaster

A man needs extensive surgery after a gang attack in Doncaster.

A 23-year-old man was at the top of Hallgate in Doncaster at 3am on 28 October. A man approached him close to the Princes Street junction and attacked him.

Two more men also appeared and the both allegedly punched the man in the face. All three men then left.

The victim was left with a fractured skull, broken nose, broken cheekbone and eye sockets.

Police say the first man is white and in his mid 20s. He is approximately 6ft tall and has a medium build.

He has mid blonde hair that was swept to one side. He was wearing a blue shirt and beige trousers.Police believe there may have been a number of people who possibly witnessed this incident and would urge them to please come forward to assist with the investigation.

Five football fans wanted after attack on train

Five football fans are wanted following an assault on a man travelling home on a train. The 26-year-old was travelling home to Worksop with friends after watching cricket at Trent Bridge earlier this year when a row broke out between them and a group of football supporters.

One of the group, thought to be Nottingham Forest fans, punched the man in the face and two others kicked him in the back, leaving him with cuts and bruising.

British Transport Police have released CCTV images of five men they want to talk to in connection with the incident, which took place on a train between Nottingham and Shirebrook at around 9.30pm on May 26.

"This was a nasty attack that saw several men attacking another man. I'm sure someone will recognise the men pictured. If you do, please get in touch."

Jail for tent attack man

A landscape gardener from Selby in North Yorkshire has been jailed for four years after he drove his van at teenagers camping in a field. Twenty five year old Benjamin Allerton wept in the deck as he was sentenced at York Crown Court for two counts of grevious bodily harm.

The court heard that Allerton had been drunk when he had tried to join a group of teenangers camping in fields at Barlby. He had thrown petrol on their campfire and felled trees with a chainsaw he took from his van.

He later drove the vehicle into a tent, injuring a 16 year old boy and leaving a 13 year old girl with bruising. The judge said it gave him no pleasure whatsoever to jail Allerton as he was a person of positive good character and his character reference had been "afffectionate, indeed glowing."

Appeal following sex attack in Sheffield

Police are investigating an allegation of a sexual assault on a woman in the Park area of Sheffield. It happened on Sunday morning at around half past seven on Blast Lane.

It is believed a 21- year-old woman was stood outside a block of flats, when a man approached her from behind and subjected her to a sexual assault. Officers want anyone with information to contact them.

Police are appealing for anyone who knows this man to get in touch. Officers want to speak to him in connection with an assault at the Casa Hotel and restaurant on Elland Road, Brighouse on Saturday 12 May. A 24-year-old man had his nose bitten and he received hospital treatment as a result.
