The new Labour MP for Batley and Spen Tracy Brabin was shouted at and heckled during her acceptance speech following victory in last night's by-election.
The contest was prompted by the killing of the Labour MP Jo Cox in June.
On a turnout of 26%, the former Emmerdale actress won 86% of the vote as the other main political stood aside out of respect for Jo.
But nine candidates from smaller, fringe parties did stand, and some attempted to shout down Ms Brabin as she paid tribute to Mrs Cox.
Our political correspondent Daniel Hewitt was there.
