Detectives investigating an attempted serious sexual assault on a woman in Leeds in the early hours of Sunday morning have arrested a man.
The 29-year-old, from Leeds, was arrested this morning on suspicion of attempted rape in connection with the incident on the Ring Road at Beeston Park, near to the junction with Gipsy Lane, at about 6.30am yesterday.
He is currently in custody.
The 23-year-old victim had been out for the night and got into what she believed was a taxi in the city centre.

43-year-old Humaira Naseer was last seen at Disraeli Terrace in Beeston on Tuesday 25th March at around 11am.
Officers are concerned for her welfare.
Humaira is described as Asian, 5’2” to 5’3” tall of medium build and with shoulder length straight hair. She wears reading glasses on occasion and has brown eyes. When last seen she was wearing orange trousers, a v neck t shirt, knee length green fabric jacket with hood, black shoes with small heel.
We are appealing directly for anyone who has seen Humaira or knows where she is to contact us immediately. Humaira is known to have links to the Manchester area.

A shopkeeper in Leeds is recovering after being punched in the face and head by men who attempted to rob his off-licence last Monday.
Police have now released CCTV images of three men they want to trace in connection with the incident.
Two of the men went into Beeston Wine Stores and pretended to buy items before attacking the 35-year-old shopkeeper.
He managed to run to the door and shout for help while the third man, who had been waiting outside, tried to get him back into the shop.
One of the men in the shop got behind the counter but could not open the till. All three men then ran off towards the Noster's area.
