It's believed a child aged around 11-14 years entered the post office at around 2pm yesterday and picked a card from the display before standing in the queue to pay.

A short time later a male adult suspect entered the premises before taking hold of the child - believed to be a stooge - from behind and holding a knife to his throat while demanding cash from the female post mistress.

The member of staff then placed an amount of cash into a carrier bag. The two then left, both hiding their faces from the CCTV camera. Any witnesses or anyone with information is asked to contact Holbeck CID via: 101 or call Crimestoppers, anonymously and in confidence, on: 0800 555 111.
