MP welcomes Chancellor's move to halt fuel rise

Anne McIntosh - the MP for Thirsk, Malton and Filey has today welcomed the Chancellor’s decision to postpone the 3p rise in fuel duty due on August 1st 2012.

“This decision will have a positive impact on all those living in Thirsk, Malton and Filey, especially hard pressed families, pensioners and those living in deeply rural areas. I ran a high profile campaign to oppose the 3p increase in fuel duty and I am thrilled that the Chancellor has decided to suspend the increase.”
