Appeal for witnesses after Cusworth car crash

At around 3.30am yesterday (Monday) a red Toyota Aygo driven by a 19-year-old man was travelling along Back Lane, Cusworth, towards Cusworth village. It is believed a white Fiat 500, driven by a 24-year-old man, was travelling along the same road towards Sprotbrough and leading to a head-on crash.

An 18-year-old woman, a passenger in the Toyota Aygo, was taken to Doncaster Royal Infirmary with serious injuries including fractured ribs, a broken leg, and suspected head and pelvic injuries. The Toyota Aygo driver was not injured.

The driver of the Fiat 500, from Scawthorpe, was arrested on suspicion of being over the prescribed limit, dangerous driving, taking without the owner’s consent, failing to stop, and driving while disqualified.

Police appeal after dog attack

At around 4.25 on Thursday, February 28a man's Border Collie was allegedly attacked and killed by a 'tan coloured, large dog' in Newlands Park, Cusworth, near the Trans Pennine Trail.

Police want to speak to a young woman believed to have been walking three tan coloured, large dogs, possibly around the size of a greyhound. The young woman is described as white, around 16 to 17-years-old and 5ft to 5ft 3ins tall.

She has shoulder length dark brown hair and was wearing blue jeans, a dark coloured jacket and dark coloured boots.
