American music legend Dolly Parton has just become an honorary member of the Cleethorpes Rotary Club after its involvement with her worldwide book project. The country and western star made a personal appearance to launch the scheme in Rotherham in 2007. Dolly’s Parton’s penned musical has come to the Calendar region to remind us all that working ‘9 to 5’ isn’t always what it seems. The extravaganza is on a nationwide tour, Daniel Harris caught up with cast ahead of their performance in Hull.
But don’t worry if you can’t catch it in Hull as it's also showing at the Sheffield Lyceum from 22nd – 27th April and at the Grand in Leeds from 27th May – 1st June
Up to 60 free books could be given to every child under the age of five in North Lincolnshire in a scheme pioneered by Dolly Parton.
The Country and Western star's so-called Imagination Library was first launched in the UK in Rotherham. Victoria Whittam's report contains some flash photography.
