South Yorkshire Police have confirmed a man killed in Doncaster Prison last night was an inmate.
The man died in hospital following an assault at around 6pm.
Another prisoner is being questioned by detetctives on suspicion of murder.
A man's been arrested on suspicion of murder after the death of a man at Doncaster Prison.
It's alleged the victim was assaulted at the jail at around 6 o'clock last night.
He was taken to hospital, where he later died.
A 25-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and is being held in police custody.
A post-mortem is to be carried out today, but the victim is yet to be identified.
Firefighers were called out to Doncaster Prison last night after a blaze broke out in a cell.
Crews from Doncaster and Edlington Fire Stations were sent to the Marshgate jail at 7.10pm, but found the flames were out when they arrived.
Officers believe the blaze was started deliberately.
