Woman taken to hospital six times over drink drive limit

A woman's been taken to hospital after being found six times over the drink drive limit in York this afternoon.

The 43 year old from the York area was taken to the city's district hospital after being breathalysed on Main Avenue. The car was parked up and she was arrested on suspicion of being in charge of a vehicle while unfit through drink. Her condition isn't known.

North Yorkshire drink-drivers snared

North Yorkshire Police says it has arrested 84 people on suspicion of drink or drug driving since the annual festive crackdown began on 1 December.

“Imagine if you aren’t there to see your children open their presents on Christmas Day because you’re in a police cell. Do you still think it’s worth taking the chance?”
