Craig Boden is loving life with his partner and two young daughters - after being told he would not live without a new liver. His story, told here by Tina Gelder, is being used to highlight ITV's From the Heart Campaign, which aims to attract organ donors.
As part of ITV's "From The Heart" campaign to raise awareness of organ donation, we meet Craig Boden and his young family. Craig's immune system was attacking his own liver and he was given a year to live.
He made a film, where he spoke movingly of his need for a new liver. Just before Christmas the call came and Craig had the transplant. He says it's the best start to a New Year he could have wished for. Two weeks ago his second daughter was born.
Now Craig, who lives in Sheffield, says he will be around to see his children grow up. He believes it's vital for people to sign the donor register and talk to their families about what they want. To find out more see the From The Heart website.
A grieving father whose son died waiting for a lung transplant believes he would still be alive today if more people volunteered to donate their organs. Mike Tiplady has been speaking to Tina Gelder as part of ITV's From The Heart campaign, which is encouraging more people to sign up.
