Dozens turn out for meeting over biomass power station

A public meeting has been held to discuss the controversial plans to build a biomass power station near an East Yorkshire village. The energy firm Lateral Power want to build a 250 million pound plant on the former Aerodrome site near Heddon.

The land is currently owed by Hull city council. If plans go ahead it could create 7 hundred jobs for the area. Dozens of people attended the meeting including local councillors, residents and the former deputy prime minister John Prescott
