Great Britain Hockey midfielder Georgie Twigg capped off her Olympic debut with a bronze medal - only the second ever won by the women's team.
The 21-year-old from Doddington near Lincoln, said it was an experience she would remember for the rest of her life.
"I'm absolutely thrilled and I can't quite believe it.
"It is something I will remember for the rest of my life because it is an experience you can't really imagine you will get.
"I have absolutely loved every second of it and to come away with a bronze medal I'm delighted."
Team GB’s men’s hockey team, captained by Doncaster's Barry Middleton, are through to the Olympic semi-final after a nervy 1-1 draw with Spain.
They secured the point they needed to progress and will now meet the Netherlands on Thursday.
Lincoln's Georgie Twigg hit a late strike as Team GB’s women’s hockey team recorded their second straight victory of London 2012.
The home side beat South Korea 5-3 at the Riverbank Arena on Tuesday evening.
