Anglian Water is set to announce the end of the hosepipe ban which has been in place since April. Record rainfall since then means river levels and reservoir stocks have improved significantly. The ban is expected to be lifted from Thursday.
A hosepipe ban in Lincolnshire is looking increasingly likely. Anglian Water say that despite the weekend's rain, some areas have had their driest sixteen months in ninety years. The available supply is at a similar level to the period before the 1976 drought.
