Closing speeches have begun at the trial of a driver accused of driving away after running two children down outside their home in Leeds. Mohammed Kalil Anwar admits leaving the crash on Brudenell Road last summer which left the children with serious head injuries, but denies driving dangerously.

Ten year old Sabah Saleem and her two-year-old brother Rayhan were thrown into the air after being struck by Anwar's car. The trial at Leeds Crown Court is continuing.

Ten year old Sabah Saleem and her two-year-old brother Rayhan were thrown into the air after being struck by Anwar's car.

BREAKING: Three arrests in hit and run inquiry

Two more people have been arrested in connection with the hit and run crash in Hyde Park, Leeds at the weekend. A 36-year old-man has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and failing to stop and failing to report a collision.

A 39-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving. A 26-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender. Ten year old Sabah remains in a critical but stable condition and her two year old brother Rayhan continues to improve.
