Chesterfield boss reacts to Johnstone's Paint Trophy semi-final victory

A ninetieth minute goal from Fleetwood's Jon Parkin wasn't enough to keep Chesterfield from the Johnstone's Paint Trophy final.

A 3-1 victory in the first leg was enough for the Spireites to book a trip to Wembley against Peterborough.

Chris Dawkes spoke to manager Paul Cook after the game:

Blades hoping for Cup win tonight

5 of our teams are in Johnstone's Paint Trophy action this evening. Chesterfield will be looking for revenge for last weeks 1 nil defeat at Mansfield when the sides meet again at Field Mill. York host Rotherham.

And Sheffield United will be after some respite from their poor form in League 1 when they take on Hartlepool. Assistant boss Lee Carsley says the club will be going all out for the win.

Song For the Cup

Up to 18,000 Chesterfield fans are now expected to follow their team down to Wembley for the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy Final against Swindon Town on Sunday. The Trophy itself has already been in the town.

Earlier in the week hundreds of supporters – including the Mayor, Councillor Peter Barr - saw it on display in a local department store, where it was serenaded by the club’s official singer!
