It's emerged that the full facts over how social services and other agencies dealt with Shannon Matthews' family in the years leading up to her abduction will never be made public - to protect Shannon and her siblings.
It's claimed that publishing the precise details of a serious case review into Shannon's kidnapping by her mother and uncle, would put the youngsters' welfare at risk. Lisa Adlam reports.

A former neighbour of Karen Matthews, jailed for faking her own daughter's disappearance has told a national newspaper that Karen insists there were several others involved in the plot, but she is too scared to reveal the truth. She said she wants to take a lie detector test to prove it.
