Prince William and Kate have announced a Royal baby is on its way. But did you know he or she will be the latest addition to a long-established and illustrious family from Leeds. And here are the facts to prove it:
The Lupton's owned a number of properties - including the imposing Beechwood in Elmete Lane and Rocklands in St Mary's Road in Chapeltown, now owned by the NHS. The family used its wealth to expand and improve the city, inlcuding the Leeds General Infirmary.
Perhaps the family' greatest achievment was when Francis, Kate's great great grandfather ordered the clearing of the squalid and overcrowded slums of Quarry Hill. Between the Luptons and the Middletons, Kate's links to the county stretch back for generations. For more on this story click here
