Beverley-born Lizzie Simmonds missed out on a medal when she finished fourth in the final of the women's 200m backstroke . Lizzie, who lives in Lincoln finished in a time of 2.07.26. The race was won in a new world record time by American teen sensation Missy Franklin.
Lizzie Simmonds, who was born in Beverley and brought up in Lincoln, will have to concentrate on qualifying in the 200m backstroke after suprisingly missing out by finishing third in 100 metres.
Grimsby's Kate Haywood is on the team, she won the 200m breaststroke.
