South Yorkshire Police have launched an investigation after ugly crowd violence marred Saturday's Championship clash between Rotherham United and Millwall at the New York Stadium.
The trouble started after Rotherham's Kari Arnason scored an 85th minute winner. Police moved in as missiles were thrown by sections of Millwall's travelling support.
Other visiting fans then tried to cross fencing to confront home supporters. Two stewards and a number of police officers received minor injuries. No arrests were made, but police say they'll be examining CCTV footage to track down those responsible. Rotherham fan Charlie Jackson took these pictures of the disturbance on his mobile phone.
Sheffield Wednesday defender Mark Beevers has signed for Millwall on an emergency loan for 28 days. The 22-year-old has made 161 appearances for the Owls. He'll be eligible for the Lions' home game against Bolton Wanderers on Saturday.
