Pensioner gets three years for killing wife

An 80 year old Royal British Legion member who killed his wife at their home in Haworth has been sentenced to three years in prison.

Clement Callaghan had previously pleaded not guilty to the murder of his wife Eileen, who was 76, but guilty to her manslaughter. He was sentenced this afternoon at Bradford Crown Court.

Mrs Callaghan's body was found at the couple's home on Ivy Bank Lane in Haworth last August.

CCTV of man wanted over pensioner burglary

Police have released a CCTV image of a man they would like to speak to following a burglary in Leeds in which a 90-year-old female was targeted

It happened on the 9th July on Daleside Close, Pudsey, where the door chain was forced before the suspect entered the living room and knelt beside the victim. He took her handbag, which the victim was unable to prevent.

17 minutes later a man was caught on CCTV using the victim's card at a cash point at the Sainsbury's store in Greengates, Bradford where £250 was taken.
