Police are renewing an appeal for information one year after 56-year-old Peter Topping died in a fatal incident in Goldthorpe.

At around 8.25pm on Thursday, 29 December 2011, it is believed that Mr Topping was lying in the carriageway on Co-operative Street, Goldthorpe, when an unknown vehicle drove over him causing fatal injuries.

The driver of the vehicle failed to stop at the scene, and it is reported that the vehicle continued along Co-operative Street, turning left onto Doncaster Road. Despite extensive enquiries in the area and assistance from the local community, neither the driver nor the vehicle has been traced.

Police are interested in speaking to the occupants of three vehicles that are believed to have been in the area at the time and may have witnessed the incident: a dark coloured Mercedes ā€˜Cā€™ class, a dark coloured Land Rover Freelander, and a silver coloured Audi A3.
