West Yorkshire PCC vote goes to second preference ballot

The vote for the West Yorkshire Police and Crime Commissioner is going to a second round of counting after none of the four candidates managed to gain more than 50% of first preference votes. The race is now between Mark Burns-Williamson (Labour) and Cedric Christie (Independent).

The results were as follows:Mark Burns-Williamson (Labour) - 102,817 (46%)Geraldine Carter (Conservative) - 45,365 (20%)Cedric Christie (Independent) - 49,299 (22%)Andrew Marchington (Liberal Democrat) - 17,247 (8%)

Humberside - Prescott and Grove through to second round.

Search for Doncaster man one month on

It is now almost one month since the disappearance of 59 year old Alan Brown from Westfield Road, Balby, near Doncaster. He was last seen on October 17th and police are keen to speak to anyone who may know where he is.

He is 5ft 7ins tall, slim, with sandy coloured hair and wears glasses. Police in Doncaster have widened the search for Alan in Balby and surrounding areas. Posters have been put up in the vicinity and extra officers have been included within the search.
