Fire crews deal with litres of acid spilt in warehouse

Fire crews have been dealing with an acid spill at a warehouse in Nottinghamshire overnight.

Nottinghamshire Fire & Rescue service tweeted at 22:44 on Wednesday that 25 litres of acid were involved at the business in the Ashfield District.

Chemical suits, absorbent granules & protective mats were used to tackle the spill/ There are no reports of any injuries.

Cash robbery at Nottinghamshire shop

Police are looking for four men who stole cash and cigarettes from a shop in Sutton-in-Ashfield. Officers were called to the shop in Northwood Avenue at 8.50pm on Saturday.

Four masked men in dark clothes entered the shop and threatened staff with a crow bar.

After getting into the safe they loaded a white sack with money and cigarettes before leaving, possibly in a car.

Man's body found in graveyard

An investigation has begun after a man's body was found in a churchyard in Sutton-in-Ashfield.

The discovery at St Mary Magdalene Church was reported to the police at around 8pm last night.

A cordon is in place and examinations of the scene are continuing.

At this stage, the death on Church Avenue is not believed to be suspicious.

A woman who thought she had kidney stones went to the doctor and found out that she was actually 37 weeks pregnant.

22-year-old Stacey Bonsall from Sutton-in-Ashfield had been told as a teenager that she'd never be able to have a baby. When her aches and pains eventually led to her having a scan at hospital she was stunned when it revealed she was heavily pregnant.
