Report: Sand blast

Extra sand, dumped on beaches to increase sea defences on the east coast, is being blown inland and causing problems according to residents. Many who live in Sutton-on-Sea and Mablethorpe are calling for more to be done by the Environment Agency who put the sand there in the first place.

Baby murder charge man remanded

A 29-year-old man has been remanded in custody after appearing in court charged with murdering a baby girl. Darryl Elliott, from Sandringham Drive in Sutton On Sea, Lincolnshire, appeared at Lincoln Crown Court this morning, accused of killing 14-month-old Amelia Bowmar.

Lincolnshire Police said Amelia was taken from Sutton on Sea to hospital in Grimsby with a suspected brain injury on Saturday night. She was transferred to Sheffield Children's Hospital, where she died on Monday. During the 10-minute hearing , Elliott, who appeared in court wearing black jogging

bottoms and a white t-shirt, spoke only to confirm his name. No applications for bail were made and he was remanded in custody to appear again at the same court on November 9, when it is expected he will enter a plea to the murder charge.

Man charged with baby murder

A man has been charged with the murder of a baby girl from Lincolnshire who was taken to hospital last Saturday evening suffering from a suspected brain injury.

14 month old Amelia Bowmar from Sandringham Drive in Sutton-on-Sea was taken to hospital in Grimsby but was later moved to Sheffield Children's Hospital. She died on Monday night.

Man arrested on suspicion of murder in connection with Lincolnshire baby death

A 14 month-old girl from the Sandringham Drive area of Sutton-On-Sea was taken to hospital in Grimsby, suffering from a suspected brain injury on July 28.

She was transferred to Sheffield Children's Hospital where she died from her injuries.

A 30 year-old local man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and is currently being interviewed at Skegness Police Station, Lincolnshire Police said.
