This is our regiment. Very very brave young people. The people of Yorkshire should feel proud. It's tragic, but people should feel proud.
John Sentamu said the people of Yorkshire should be very proud of the soldiers who've been killed. Today he filmed a message of support and lit two candles in the Chapel at Bishopthorpe.
The Archbishop said he hoped that the people of Yorkshire will turn out in force to show their support. In due course he wants to vist the families to hear at first hand about the loved ones they've lost.
The Archbishop of York, Dr John Sentamu, has been speaking out in support of the armed forces this morning, following the deaths of five soldiers from the Yorkshire regiment in Afghanistan. He expressed his greatest sympathies for all affected by the tragedy
The Archbishop of York has expressed his support for armed service personnel. He is due to talk today about the recent incident in Helmand in which six British servicemen died, including five from 3rd Battalion Yorkshire Regiment. He'll be taking questions at Bishopthorpe Palace.
