Firefighters are tackling a large moorland fire on the Pennines.
Flames , fanned by strong winds ,are spreading across a large area of hillside above Walsden.
Fire crews have been brought in from West Yorkshire and Greater Manchester.
As well as trying to beat the fire out, they are also preparing to draw water from the nearby Rochdale Canal.
Smoke from the blaze can be seen from several miles away .
A team of firefighters from West Yorkshire will today pitch in to help colleagues in flood-hit Somerset. They're attending a briefing in Taunton before being sent out to relieve exhausted colleagues who've been working around the clock to help those affected by the deluge.
