Prescott appears before Leveson

Lord Prescott of Hull has appeared before the Leveson inquiry into press standards. The former deputy Prime Minister has been called before the panel, as they look into relations between the media and the police.

Prescott : " Scotland Yard initially denied my phone had been tapped"

Former Labour Deputy Prime Minister John Prescott told the Leveson Inquiry that he asked Scotland Yard if his phone had been hacked after claims that it had been appeared in The Guardian newspaper. Initially Scotland Yard said there was no evidence that his phone had been tapped.
